Lymphoedema Bath Community

The Lymphoedema nurse-led community service provides assessment, treatment and advice for people living within the Bath and North East Somerset area who are registered with a BANES GP.

Patients can be referred via a Health Care Professional e.g. GP, Community Matron, Community District Nurse. A health and medication summary and relevant investigations e.g. Doppler or blood tests and any previous known lymphoedema treatment is required prior to initial assessment.

At the first visit, which may take up to 60-90 minutes, assessment will include measurement of limb swelling and compression therapy using specialist bandaging or garments may be recommended. Additional treatments may include lymphatic drainage, skincare and exercise.

The service provides outpatient clinics 9am-5pm at Paulton Hospital on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays located in Keynsham Health Centre and Riverside clinic in central Bath. Home visits can be offered for people who are unable to attend clinic due to health restrictions.
