Around the SWAG region and across the south west, we are working on a few pilot programmes as well as sourcing innovative tools which can aid us in achieving part of the early diagnosis and faster diagnosis objectives in The Long Term Plan.

High quality modern services
Cancer is the leading cause of death in the South West. The Peninsula Cancer Alliance is responsible for working with providers, commissioners and other partners to improve services and patient experience. The Alliance covers the 1.7 million people who live in Devon and Cornwall.
The Alliance has a Long Term Plan for 2019 to 2024 (link to pdf attached). This sets out how we are working to diagnose more cancers early, provide services rapidly and support people living with and beyond cancer.
