Reasonable adjustments in Cancer Care

The Equality Act 2010 mandates that health and social care organisations take steps to remove barriers individuals face because of disability.

NHS Learning Hub Resource

This Reasonable Adjustments E-Learning module, co-designed with people who have received cancer care in Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire (BNSSG), introduces reasonable adjustments in cancer care: what they are, why they are important, and how they can be applied in practice.

You can access the full Reasonable Adjustments E-Learning module via NHS Learning Hub here.

This module aligns to the NHS England ACCEND framework, which outlines core capabilities and guides continuing professional development for the cancer care workforce.

The module consists of four separate videos, which can be seen below. These videos draw on insights from focus groups involving 45 patients and carers. Their experiences help highlight how reasonable adjustments can significantly help improve the quality and equity of cancer care.

The creation of these videos would not be possible without the experiences shared by our focus group attendees. The Journal of Cancer Policy published a paper with further insights into the experiences shared, which can be accessed here: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcpo.2025.100641
